Bedbugs
The location was very convenient (you can easily reach the Paddington station in a few minutes) and I appreciated the luggage storage service.
However, during our stay, we developed more and more unexplained bites each night (which were later medically identified as consistent with bed bug bites). We initially did not see any bed bugs in the room, but our suspicion grew. A few days later, while thoroughly checking our luggage because of the suspected bed bug exposure, we found an actual bed bug in our suitcase.
This was an extremely unpleasant and distressing experience, especially knowing that bed bugs can easily spread through luggage and clothing and potentially follow you home.
I immediately reported the issue to the hotel and provided photographic evidence as requested. The hotel initially offered me a 50% refund, but this was never paid. Instead, I was repeatedly referred back and forth between the hotel and Booking.com.
What disappointed me most was the way the situation was handled afterwards.
Bed bugs are a serious issue for any accommodation and guest, and I expected the hotel to handle the situation with much more responsibility and professionalism. The lack of communication and the failure to honour the refund they had offered made an already unpleasant experience even worse.
Despite several follow-up requests, we never received any update regarding the investigation into the suspected bed bug issue in the room we stayed in. Therefore we don't know if the problem was properly addressed and resolved.
Overall, the stress caused by this experience, combined with the way our concerns were handled afterwards, has left us very disappointed. We would not choose to stay at this hotel again.

Good value for money for London!
The rooms are small, but that is quite standard in London. They are clean, decent, and sufficient for a city trip. The bed was a bit soft for our taste, but we still slept well.
The staff is really very welcoming and helpful, always with a smile.
The breakfast is simple but gets the job done: English breakfast every morning, some pastries (pre-packaged), cereals, hot drinks… The selection is not huge, but it is decent. The breakfast room is in the basement and can be a bit noisy. The hotel's soundproofing could also be improved.
In summary, a simple hotel, well located and with very good value for money to discover London. We would return there without a problem.
