A hostel with a familial atmosphere

Casa de Carmen isn’t just a beautiful hostel – it truly feels like home. The atmosphere is so warm and familial, and you can ask about anything, whether it’s for great restaurant recommendations, advice on local prices, or even getting a taxi called. The breakfast is always wonderful, with fresh avocados straight from their own garden in Calca, and a freshly made fruit smoothie every morning. I also got along really well with her brother, if you're open to it, they really welcome you like family – even the dog! Everything is done with so much love and care, and you can feel it in every detail.
I’ve come back here multiple times and was even able to store my things safely between visits. They’ve also been kind enough to let friends drop off items for me when we couldn’t meet in person. You’re always offered coca tea (or other teas if you prefer) at any time of the day. The only small issue was that the shower didn’t stay warm for long, and the rooms can get a bit chilly. But with all the cozy blankets, I never felt cold in bed. The WiFi also works well.

Economic

Cheap accommodation in Cusco, not far from the center.
It's located on a narrow street in the San Blas neighborhood, where excursion buses can't reach.
The structure is colorful but rather spartan.
The room is small and in the bathroom the shower and toilet work poorly.
But Carmen's warmth and energy are worth the trip.

Robbed after arrival

After several hours of traveling to CUSCO and paying online for my accommodation I was told to pay extra 157 SOLES but there was nobody to explain why and what I am paying for!! Lack of English so serious communication problem!! This place is extremely cold and dark. They offer buffet breakfasts - pictures attached. Yes, I know, sounds like a joke and looks to me like joke plus tastes like a joke because they are always late with their what they call "buffet". One more spicy detail of Casa del Carmen is what they call "free Internet" - picture attached!! I've never seen anything slower!!
My advice - don't do it to yourself.

Amazing Place - Amazing energy

Carman is an incredible person, in the second i got there i felt like home. She is like a mother, allways ask how are you and how was youre day. Its a peaceful place, full of plants and green, and it has beautifull rooftop, and amazing rooms, allways clean smell good, hot water. Great environment, i stayed here for 7 night and i would stay here for 2 months if i could

Best place in Peru to feel like home !

We spent a all day searching where to sleep in Cusco and this is definitely the best hospedaje of the city. Our host, Carmen, is welcoming, smiling, and always ready to help. The vegetale decoration is lovely, the place is warming and you feel like home very quickly. Thanks to the disposition of the place you often meet nice people, and you have also a kitchen at your disposition. We already miss la Casa de Carmen!
