Excellent food

One of the best restaurants in Tsumeb. Excellent food and service and very very quick. Very nice menu and there is nothing that they don't have. Almost centrally located and nice ambience, friendly staff. Excellent place for good food at reasonable price.

Ok food

We ended up here because the El Dorado restaurant was closed. The restaurant has nice seating outside and I had a tasty Greek salad. It would be nice to fry the French Fries a little bit longer so they can be served crispy I missed that.

Lovely courtyard and pool

We were looking for a nice beergarden and ended up booking a room at the Makalani hotel. Their courtyard is lovely and the pool was just too inviting! Booking the room and checking-in took a little while because the young man was clearly new and learning the ropes, but he was friendly and happy to show us the rooms available. Service at the bar was a little grumpy but the beer was cold.
We spent a comfortable night with a good A/C and enjoyed the large bathroom. Breakfast the following morning was average but the coffee was nice.
While it was lovely to wake up to much needed rain, it would have been nice to have a little more cheerful service.

Enjoyed One-day stay

It took the reception a little time to sort out the booking we had made a day earlier over the phone. But in general friendly staff, nice and cozy tropical-styled backyard with a swimming pool. We enjoyed the one-day stayǃ Some rooms even came with a balcony toward the backyard.

Serious upgrade needed

The booking was done wrong to start with. It was a bit of a hassle trying to sort out the payment arrangement. My collegue's air con was broken. The yawning person at reception the next day's reasoning was simply that the air cons are not functioning properly and no word spoken about it further. The other one said that Tsumeb's humidity overloads the air cons. These are not acceptable responses. We requested moving rooms, which was forgotten about by the time we got back. Further issues arose with booking out surrounding the payment which was supposed to have been sorted via email communication, which was received but forgotten about. One thing I can say is that the bar and restaurant service was top notch and the food is excellent, so thank you for that.
