Short- & long-stays ... . central apartments:
Clean, modern apartment kompleks in an up- & coming quarter of the cultural capitals" centre. Choose Getrudes-street-54 if you prefer staying in walking distance to Rigas original night-life-joints; the main apartamentos house at Gertrudes iela 129 is somewhat more quiet & family friendly with a nice yard to BBQ with some friends.

Medium satisfied
Stayed in Gertrudes 54 for 7 nights. The rooms were simple but fair. No cleaning or extra toilet paper / towels during the whole week. Variable cleening day by day. One shower ok, the other could be renovated. Not very silent rooms. On the positive side good to be able to wash clothes and have a fridge for storing food, and maikng your ovn melas. TV did not work, and limited cutlery though. The breakfast at Lido was very good but some of the staff could be more positive... The reseption was at Gerthrudes Iela 129 ten minutes down the street. They had parking, but other options were 2.50 Euro / hour during daytime... The price was VERY reasonable. We payed c. $1000 for 7 persons 7 nights including a good breakfast.

A long weekend with Family
We stayed in these apartments for four nights. We are a family of five persons. We had been in the same place for couple of years ago, when we were really happy about Riga Apartments. Obviously, something strange had happened during those years as now things were quite different. They whole hotel was untidy, especially hallway and steps. You could notice it also in the rooms, when after one day everything started to smell 'worn'.
Me and my husband shared a very small room, which had a 'kitchenette'. It was a small table beside the fridge and couple of shelves with glasses and microvawe oven.
The problem was that there wasn't any other place to put things on than fridge and this small table. In the cupboard there weren't any shelves either, to put e.g. clothes in there, only hangers. So, this small room for me seemed so tiny, that only 1-2 nights stay in it would be sensible. There wasn't anything special to say about the bed, and as I mentioned before, the bedlinen started to smell stuffy after one night. Even the tiny soaps and other hygiene things were PRICED in the bathroom. We had 2 sheets in the facial tissue paper box, and small amount of toilet paper when we arrived in the Hotel. When I went to get more toilet paper to both rooms, I got one roll to each room, even if in the other room there was staying 3 people still for 3 nights... There was some signs all over the walls like: do not use too much warm water, we will invoice each thing you take with or damage, from this room. On the very first day when we were out, someone had checked our room, as the windows were opened even though the air conditioner was on. We didn't want to leave the windows open, as the apartment was in the ground floor, and surrounding area seemed somewhat suspicious.

Good value apartment and good location
This is 2nd building at 53 Gertrude Iela. Comfortable small apartment. Able to cook meals and wash clothes. One window overlooking outside garden. Bed good size but poor fitting sheets, too small for mattress. TV with many channels. Good Wifi. Need a fan for guests during warm weather as room uncomfortable for sleeping. No soap available in liquid dispenser in shower and not filled despite request. Room cleaned weekly and sheets and towels changed for long stays but tea towel not changed. One receptionist friendly others could improve customer service skills. Would stay again.

cheap but practical
There is overall cheap look on the facility, starting from check-in to the rooms. Everything is cheap and has allready some wear and tear on them, but there is everything you need! There are some cleaning issues as well, some dust rolls came out from under the bed this time. It was my second time in that facility, and the problems they had last time (no sheets and towels in the room that we had to ask them) are left behind. This time i'm rather satisfied with the stay!
