Room was ok and showers/toilets nearby which were cleaned regularly. Forgot my padlock but can be borrowed from reception for a fully refundable fee once returned.

I arrived at Naughty Squirrel planning to “see Riga.” I left feeling like I’d lived it. From the first minute at reception, the tone was set: Monika (“the Kat”) with that calm, dialed-in welcome; Darta making check-in easy and handing me real, local tips instead of brochure fluff. Huge shoutout to the volunteers—Luca, Evi, Gabriel, Shaira, and Mayke—the crew who somehow keep the common areas buzzing, the events rolling, and the newcomers folded into the mix without any awkwardness. They’re the connective tissue here.

The dorms are what every traveler hopes for and rarely finds: solid bunks, personal space that makes sense, lockers with room to actually use, and a layout that doesn’t turn 10 people into chaos. Don't think twice; Go for it.
One of the most impressive hostels I've stayed in. It was so systematic, and secure. Great central location. Beds were very comfortable and had curtains for privacy. Several bathrooms and maintained to be clean. Good common rooms and availability of tours. It was perfect

Great for tour booking
Booked a gun shooting experience via the Naughty Squirrel and had the best time. Highly recommend! So helpful and knowledgeable. The staff knew their stuff and were super helpful and managed to get us a great price on the whole experience. I would book through them again.

Friendly hostel good value for money
The hostel is conveniently located. The staff are amazing and couldn’t do more for you. The hostel itself is slightly ran down/old but it is clean and has everything you need. My only complaint would be the socket in my room had loose cables. The hostel reception also leave at 22:00 which means you can’t loose your key or else you’ll be locked out. There is a WhatsApp group chat you should join to talk with staff and other travellers and this is where activities are discussed and planned.
