A perfect room for a short night

Room tt quite correct. The neighborhood is very nice , we did not use the hot tub because caught up in the time

Good value for money. Good facilities, fridge and balcony etc

Alex Rooms offers the best value for money I could find in Amsterdam. The room includes very useful facilities including a mini fridge and a balcony. The bed was very comfortable. There was a good TV set, a desk, chair and bed side table, all very appreciated. The room was clean and modern. The only reasons I did not give 5 are that the shower flow was too low, although I suspect this may be a problem for the area and not the room itself. And the room is a little out of the way and about a 40 min walk from the nearest train station. Still it is very reasonable and there are many shops and restaurants nearby. And beautiful canal also nearby. I will definitely rent a room again at Alex Rooms.

Don’t trust them

I arrived at this hotel and they couldn’t find my booking. After an hour of sitting on the doorstep (reception was closed at 2pm) the cleaning staff put me in a room for the night but the next day the manager told me I had to leave (told through an intercom system as he refused to meet me and was very aggressive and blamed me). The booking agency spoke to them and they eventually found my booking. On returning from exploring the city, I found they had repacked my bags and taken my medicine from the fridge and moved me to a smaller room. I was extremely upset that they had not put my medicine back in the fridge and had gone through my belongings so I left the hotel early. When I made a formal complaint to Expedia, the booking agency they denied everything. I do not recommend staying at this out of the way, very basic hotel with appalling customer service.

Wonderful spot outside Amsterdam.

Alex Rooms is in a nice village outside of Amsterdam. The pictures are accurate. Nice to have a balcony and enjoy looking at a park setting. Room very comfortable,clean the bed was very good. Wonderful shower.
Staff very helpful, especially Alex and Dean!
Coffee machine in lobby 1 euro . Nice yard with tables and covered patio.
Walking distance to buses and trains. Coffee shops, grocery stores and great cheese shop nearby.
Would highly recommend it.

Noisy

We booked some months previous and, during this time, Alex Rooms had been taken over. We were advised, by booking.com, to take all paperwork with us which provided evidence of our booking. I am pleased we did as on arrival we were told that the booking was 2 rooms for 3 people - there was four of us. I am not sure what they were trying to get from us, perhaps more money, however, on producing that paperwork we were given the keys to our rooms.
Alex Rooms is basically a converted house, with the stairs traditionally Dutch - steep and narrow in comparison to UK stairs. Our room was on the second floor to 2 sets of steep stairs - the second being steeper than the first so, with no lift, definitely not suitable for disabled guests. Our room was clean and proved to be very comfortable with a large outside balcony and, unlike the room our friends had, quiet - probably because it was the only room on the top floor. However, our friends had to suffer the noise of some very noisy, and amorous, neighbours who partied to the early hours - despite their requests to keep the noise down.
The problem is that it is, as stated, a converted house so all the rooms are on top of each other with no soundproofing and this is made even worse by the fact that the floors and stairs are wooden. If you want a quiet stay then don't stay here.
On the plus, it was clean and in a great location for catching a train to Amsterdam and the village of Zwanenburg had a lot to offer, including, fabulous bakery. supermarket and Chinese- Gardenia. However, this is not enough to convince me to ever stay here again.
