Absolutely one of the nicest properties, I’ve stayed in. Check in was so casual and welcoming. Invited to sit in the lounge area, offered a drink and a chat.
The breakfast is served at the table, all fresh and presented very well.
The hotel’s very well located, near some decent restaurants and good transportation. Also great shopping within easy walking distance
I my stay was just short of two weeks and there wasn’t anything I could say negatively about it.

This was a gorgeous boutique hotel within walking distance of everything from the local brewery to the cathedral square to the train station. The staff was so friendly. We highly recommend staying here. Thoroughly wow-ed.

Great hotel, centrally located
1635 is a beautiful small hotel in a historic building. Rooms are well appointed, very comfortable and clean. Staff are fantastic and the check in with Luisa was so welcoming and included insight into the history of the building, as well as a walk to our room and a drink.
Our room had a large window with a view onto the courtyard and rooftops. Shampoo/conditioner and hand soap from the Rituals line (loved it!) and a wonderful spacious shower.
The only disappointment was that the hotel doesn't have AC and we stayed during a heat wave, which made our sleep quite uncomfortable. Two fans were placed in the room prior to our arrival, but they weren't able to do much.
The hotel is close to an underground car pack and in the heart of a shopping area with plenty of restaurants to choose from.
I'd not hesitate staying at this beautiful hotel again, but I'd check the weather forecast first.

Top rate boutique hotel in Haarlem city center
Recently spent three nights at the 1635 Haarlem (formerly MAF Haarlem). A small boutique hotel, this was an excellent experience. Room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel has been tastefully decorated and fitted out in a historic building, but comfort has not been sacrificed. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast was excellent. It's a great location for Haarlem and for easy access to the station for further touring
