Unforgettable stay - Amazing team. That’s signature W!
We came to Amsterdam to celebrate our anniversary and, as loyal Marriott guests and true W lovers, W Amsterdam was our first choice. From the moment we arrived, everything felt like a wow. The room setup, the upgrade, the welcome — flawless. Huge thanks to W Insiders Melanie & Ignacia for making it extra special. We truly felt at home, away from home. Special appreciation to GM Mr. Oliver Kesseler for his warm and gracious touch.
The location is unbeatable — right in the heart of the city, surrounded by stylish cafés, great restaurants, shopping spots, and designer boutiques. Everything is within walking distance, including Central Station, and the tram is just steps away, making our stay incredibly convenient.
For our anniversary dinner, we chose The Duchess, located in the Bank building where we stayed — and it was just as exceptional. The team was incredibly welcoming and professional, the food was delicious, and the chocolate bomb was an unforgettable finale.

Great location, W bar was nice and bed was big and comfy, and that’s really about it ..
Check in was painfully slow, as was check out so gave up waiting and left the keys in the express check out
Hotel split into 2, we had to cross the road to use the spa
Room was small and had a strange layout, not relaxing at all
After 1st night room was not cleaned, we came back at 2pm not cleaned, left at 5pm and came room still not cleaned despite cleaning light being on
2nd night room was cleaned but my bathrobe was removed from the stool, and not replaced, however there is nowhere to hang the robes, rooms are really badly designed. Mentioned the missing robe to reception as I didn’t want them thinking I stole a robe and they didn’t seem to care
The toilet is away from the bathroom, no sink, in a small claustrophobic room..
The biggest thing, if you are in A or B rooms be prepared to stay in a room with no natural daylight as the large windows of each block face each other. In order to maintain privacy blinds need to be closed. We saw a bit too much of our fellow guests…
Lifts also take forever to arrive and guest lift often being used by maintenance / cleaning
Read another review, similar situation we had 2 hand wash but no body lotion… little things I expect from 5 star..

Really annoying experience when checking out. I will never recommend W in Amsterdam to my worst enemy.

One of the best hotels in Amsterdam. In the center am l the action. Best restaurants, lounge and nightclub. Staff went above and beyond and was exceptional from arrival to departure. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in the world. Bravo W Amsterdam

I found the W Amsterdam review we worked on from August 15. The latest complete version starts:
“Not sure where to start, but save your money and do not book this hotel.”
It included the 5-hour check-in wait, luggage taking over an hour and them bringing the wrong bag, the flickering/strobe-like room light, AC not working, the delayed fan and no maintenance response, your key not working, long elevator/hallway waits, security/master-key issues, and complaints about the property being dated/unclean with ceiling leaks/holes and buckets.
