Happy days
We loved our stay , we really needed a chilled easy break and it was perfect.
Clean , comfortable and everything we needed with lots of local tips on what to do and where to go . Loved knowing we didn’t have to rush for a sunbed and the beach so close and beautiful sun rise was amazing .
Thank you Theo and Atalina for a lovely
Holiday .

One year later - still perfect
We are just back from our second stay at Aliki Studios. Theo sorted our car hire and everything worked very smoothly despite very late flights in and out. He even let us keep our room till we were ready to go to catch the midnight flight. Aliki studios aren't luxurious but they are clean and well equipped for preparing simple meals on the perfectly positioned balcony overlooking gardens and sea.

Perfect location, accommodation and host for a wonderfully chilled holiday
From emails exchanged prior to booking through being greeted on arrival until looking after us till the day of departure, Theo was the perfect host. Always available and keen to ensure our stay was as relaxing as possible. Willing to help and advise if asked but not intrusive - Some basic goodies were there on our arrival, tea, coffee, washing up liquid, olive oil and fresh towels. Theo quietly cleaned the apartment and gave fresh towels every couple of days - although bring your own towels for the beach. Our whole trip was seamless - an easy 40 minute drive from the airport (although Theo would have arranged collection if required.) We hired a car but it was extremely underused..... the location was so beautiful and peaceful that we hardly used it. Theo even arranged for the owner of a local self drive boat hire company to visit. Possibly the highlight of the holiday - the boat was delivered to a jetty outside the hotel and we travelled up to Corfu town and then back down south of the island -
a fantastic day. There is a shop at the other end of the bay open morning and evenings that could provide for all your needs or there are supermarkets with greater choice available 2-4 km if you have a car, quad or scooter. There is a beach in front of the hotel that is pretty much perfect for a couple to spend a week on just winding down and soaking in the sun on the free sunbeds reserved exclusively for Theo's guests. When the sun gets too hot as it inevitably will in Summer then you have options... move under the shade of the beachside trees, swim or snorkel in the clear waters of the bay (with its sandy floor where the hermit crabs and blennies live or the sea grass beds that provide nurseries for the plentiful fish) or kick back in one of the half dozen tavernas in Boukari with a cold Retzina.
Aliki Studios is perfect for a couple or small family wanting a very quiet and relaxing time away from the over excited resort. At the weekend the beach and tavernas are visited by locals enjoying the area.
The apartment has a basic charm and contained everything we needed. The bathroom is very efficient and the kitchenette has everything you need to make simple meals and hot and cold drinks. The air conditioning is great but seldom needed as you get sun on the balcony in the morning and a welcome shade to eat lunch.
If you're looking for a busy noisy nightlife then you'll be disappointed - but if you want a tranquil, idyllic location to spend some quality time with a loved one then go.... but don't tell everyone about it because we want to go next year :)

Simple pleasures
Aliki Studios is well situated in the small village of Boukari.
We had a good sized room on the upper floor with enough cooking facilities to enjoy breakfasts and some lunches on the balcony. The room was airy, clean and functional. Everything worked and there was good broadband. (I don't suppose you can stream video but we weren't there for that.)
The owner, Theo, is charming and works hard to make sure you have a perfect holiday. As an example, our lavatory cistern started dripping one afternoon and though Theo was away, he arranged for it to be fixed within half an hour or so.
Across the little used road from the studios, is a sandy beach with olive trees for shade and some sun loungers for the use of guests. Within a hundred yards there are three tavernas and the two we went to were both inexpensive, very friendly and served good homemade food.
We were very glad we had a car, partly because it made our picnic lunch buying easier and partly because there are some lovely places to visit within 15 or 20 mins drive. We went up into the hills and also along the coast to the south. One day we visited the north of the island and came back so pleased we were staying in Boukari! (We got our rental car through Theo, which was a far simpler process than usual.)
Finally, I wouldn't disagree with anything written by the other reviewers. Long may it remain just the way it is now.

Everything wonderful
Theo is a charming efficient and helpful host. Basic kitchen equipment provided so we always had breakfast and often had lunch on the balcony looking directly down to the sea (that was 5 mins walk away). Many good small restaurants within walking distance. Useful to have a car so you can get supplies and cash from Messonghi. Sun loungers on beach below supplied for Aliki guests. Beds a bit on the firm side for my liking but apart from that everything perfect. Really good value.
