Perfect!

Very lovely, helpful staff! Very clean and comfortable room, was perfect for our short two night stay. Location was very good for buses and the metro! And the complimentary hotel shuttle bus from/to the airport made our travel so easy. Certainly good value

Budget Hostel or Spanish Escape Room? You Decide.

Hostel Viky Madrid is one of those truly no-frills airport hostels in Barajas, just under 5min from Madrid airport. Convenient? Absolutely. Luxurious? Let’s not get carried away.
After surviving the marathon journey from Singapore via Dubai & landing at 9:20pm, this “old couple” wisely decided we needed a night near the airport before tackling Spain properly. Our knees & backs fully supported this decision.
Booking was easy through Booking.com & the hostel provides a 24hr airport pickup & drop off service, which is honestly its biggest selling point. We called after landing & were picked up around 9:45pm by Danny.
Now… Danny deserves his own TripAdvisor category.
The man drove that shuttle van like he was auditioning for Fast & Furious: Barajas Drift! Our luggage in the back was flying left, right & airborne while Danny attacked corners with terrifying confidence, all without wearing a seatbelt! At that point, we weren’t sure if this was relaxed Spanish culture or if Fernando Alonso had taken up part-time airport transfers. Either way, we arrived quickly… & alive. Slightly dizzy.
What the website photos don’t really tell you is that you may not actually stay in the main building. We were sent across the road to another building & given an attic room on the top floor. No lifts in either building, of course, because apparently Danny believes carrying luggage upstairs after a 14hr flight is part of the authentic Madrid fitness experience.
To be fair, the sensor lights on each floor worked as we climbed up, until the very top floor where the light had completely died, leaving us using our phone torches like contestants in a paranormal investigation show!
The attic room itself was tiny but acceptable for one night. The bed was clean, though the bedside glass tables were covered in oily marks & the floor featured enough long hairs to suggest vacuuming may simply be an optional lifestyle choice here.
Naturally, there were no slippers, kettle, safe, tea or coffee facilities, toiletries, or basically anything that might accidentally create comfort. But in fairness, they did generously provide 2 paper cups in the bathroom, & honestly at this point we felt spoiled.
The shower cubicle was so narrow that turning around required careful planning & spatial awareness. The sliding shower door also couldn’t fully close, meaning the bathroom floor received its own complimentary shower too.
Towels? Yes, provided. Condition? Let’s just say they had clearly lived a full and meaningful life before meeting us.
We did sleep well though, partly because the bed was decent, but mostly because exhaustion from the long-haul flight knocked us unconscious within minutes.
Overall, Hostel Viky Madrid works perfectly if you need a cheap overnight airport stay with a shuttle service & you arrive with very low expectations & a reasonable sense of humour. Otherwise, Barajas has far better accommodation options nearby.

Fantastic value for money hotel close to airport with efficient drop off and collect

Another great value for money stay close to the airport
The hotel is basic but clean
Great drop up and pick up from the airport. The process is well coordinated by staff
There are restaurants close by to eat
If you want 4 or 5 star don’t book it, but go somewhere else at three times the price
This was our second stay and we will be back next year

Only go if you like getting yelled at!

EXTREMELY RUDE front desk worker. Absolutely no customer service training at all. There’s no reason staff should ever raise their voice at a customer. Was only asking about shuttle service and was struggling to understand due to language barrier. Very disgusting behavior.
