Charming room with hardwood floors, as an American it felt like was loaded with old world charm (which is absent from most American hotels). Getting in the first time was a little confusing. I recommend contacting them through WhatsApp. It was very close to the Gran Via - which was a little commercial for my taste but it was a good neighborhood to get my bearings in Madrid.
Hot tip for other clueless Americans or folks who are jetlagged and not thinking clearly - main doors open in, not out.

Great location with a 15-20 walk max to all the big landmarks. Hotels is cozy as well and with many good shopping and restaurants nearby.

Perfect location and excellent value for money. The room was a little small, but I knew that before booking, so it wasn’t a surprise. Given the price and unbeatable location, it was well worth it. The hotel felt safe and secure, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The neighborhood is a nightlife hub, so it may not be ideal for light sleepers, but that didn’t detract from my stay. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

It was ok, nothing great or exceptionally bad. The bathrooms are tiny; if you're not a small person, it's uncomfortable. There was loud construction all day right next to my room, which might have been out of their control. The hallway's lights were out and never fixed the entire time. I wouldn't come back.

This was my first experience with a “hostal”. As an American, I equated “hostal” with “hostel”, and I generally avoid the latter.
I was mistaken. The only difference between this and a traditional hotel is that you can’t order in food, which you won’t need to do, since there are restaurants everywhere.
This place is excellent, an amazing value for the money. The location is ideal, the host was very gracious, the wi-fi was excellent, and the property is exquisitely maintained.
I would certainly stay here again.
