Best place for a quiet stay

I loved everything about this place. The room was comfortable an sparkly clean, the view is incredible, and the facilities have all you need for a comfortable stay. Mario de manager was kind enough to move to a room with a better view than the one I had initially booked. The view of the dam is incredible, only toped by the mountains surrounding it. There is no food offered here, but it has a nice kitchen with all appliances needed. Make sure to bring all you need, including your drinks. There is also no internet or tv, so perfect for a relaxed stay! The hotel is located in a small community with a couple grocery stores, also very nice for a walk around, and only 10 min from the town Vicuña, where you can also get anything you need or have a nice coffee at the plaza.
Eli, the person who cleans the facilities, was also very hospitable. I have no complains! A place to visit in El Valle del Elqui!

Expedia shall regulate more these offerings . Limited heating and and healthy using kerosene inside the rooms . Total lack of service if you arrive after 8 pm. No towels and no WIFI in an area with very low internet celular service

2 star hostel no more

I stayed at this "hotel" for a week at the beginning of December. It really wasn't what I expected to be honest. The owner Daniela was kind enough to actually reimburse me for part of the stay. Otherwise, for the price, it's really not worth what it is. I later looked at the other negative comments that I hadn't seen before and most of the time, unfortunately, I completely agree with what they say.
the advantages:
- The rooms are clean.
- small but nice pool
- you can cook in the barbecue
the least:
- the cubes are very small, there is no space to take clothes out of your suitcase (there is not much room for the suitcase either)
- Water treatment plant right next door, noisy (50% of the time), so if you expect to hear the sound of nature, it will be somewhere else
- The kite/windsurf/WIngfoil site is only accessible by 4x4 and is less than 15 minutes away.
- No one in the hotel most of the time (reception)
- Photos are not up to date: the reservoir has been greatly reduced and is no longer under the hotel. The view is very different today.
- the food truck does not work all the time (in my case, in principle since the beginning of January) and there is no solution to order food
- the change of sheets and so on was done 4 days after my arrival and at my request.
- there is no ventilation in the cubes
- the curtain of the cubes that "separates" you from being seen from others (people pass in front of your cube to go to theirs) is not big enough so that people can see you.

Terrible, it's not a hotel

The worst lodging experience.
It is not a hotel, it is a 2-star hostel.
It is not safe, very dirty and has a bad smell, disgusting from the attention to the piece. I do not recommend, the photos are not 5 years old, now it is a hostel with poor service

We fell into a trap, it's a 2-star hostel

The worst hosting experience of my life!
False advertising, place with a horrible smell. We had to open the door several times during the night. There is no air outlet, the cubes are rooms with no space even for suitcases. It is not a 4-star hotel as stated in the advertisements, luckily it can be classified as a 2-star hostel. The place is open, without a receptionist and without security for guests. Zero customer attention. The photos in the ads are fake. The place has been dry for about 5 years. The services do not exist. There is a huge staircase with stones of various sizes causing pain in the feet and great difficulty in carrying your bags without suffering. On the day of departure, someone was next to the room 2 hours before, pressing for early departure, the cleaning woman was watching me lying with my husband between the curtains. He banged the broom against the wall next to us to make it seem like he was in a hurry for us to leave. Note: during our stay the hotel did not receive any other guests. We fell into a trap. Be careful, it's false advertising
