Had a great time at the Bedford with my girlfriend. Bed was comfortable, room was clean and the location can’t be beat. The only improvement would be that the tiling could be cleaned a bit better in the bathrooms. Great hotel.

Place very dated and terribly maintenence. Both beds had stained comforters. Asked fir clean ones they could not find clean ones. They had to open two new boxes. The comforters dont have covers on them. Staff gave attitude over the dirt. Do not go.

Tired, worn, but adequate

A tired but serviceable hotel in an excellent location -- right downtown, in walking distance of everything. If you are clean-obsessed, this place is not recommended.
If you can live with some stains on old carpets and old grout in the bathroom...it's fine.
My main complaint is that there is no coffee or tea making equipment in the room.
When you ask for a tea kettle, staff say they'll "look into it." But nothing happens. Breakfast is provided, but...no fresh fruit, no butter, bland, un-tasty muffins. You get what you pay for. There are many lovely little cafes and two bakeries a few steps away.

The staff were very helpful and the location is amazing. But it seems like the owners are interested in reaping whatever profit they can from the location and then selling it off. It's looking a bit worn and it is understaffed. But the staff who are there are amazing. They are the heroes. The capitalist profit-maximizing owners are the problem.

Very disappointed with this hotel

Issues with this hotel:
The front desk for the most part is not staffed, so you have to check in through the attached pub and have no way to resolve issues.  
We booked and paid for two rooms at Hotel Bedford on HotelsOne in January.  When we checked in to our rooms in early June, an additional fee was added to our credit card which we assumed was a security deposit.  After the charge was not removed prior to posting to our card we contacted the hotel and were told they had no record of being paid by HotelsOne so therefore would not refund us.
Since then we contacted HotelsOne and they said that they had in fact paid Hotel Bedford and that they would contact them on our behalf which they did.  They called us back and told us to email the general manager of Hotel Bedford with a copy of our credit card statement showing that we had paid for the rooms through HotelsOne and an additional amount at check in.  They have never responded to this.  We have emailed and called and left messages several times since, but have never been able to reach the GM and no one has called us back.  
The hotel itself is very dated and in bad condition (mould in the shower, electrical outlets are so old that when you plug into them the cord falls out again).
Would definitely not recommend this hotel.  If I could give negative stars I would.
