Esterhazy Motor Hotel

I stayed one night over the weekend. Positives: Nice staff, quiet stay, bedding very clean, fridge and microwave included and a good range of cable tv channels. I stayed in the "non-smoking building" which is attached to the bar and restaurant. The room and hotel are in need of updating, which usually doesn't bother me, however there were a few issues which I think would be major turnoff for guests. When I initially walked into the hall leading to the room, the smell was awful, like damp and musty carpet mixed with cat urine. I was hoping the smell of the room would be better- it was, but not much. Thankfully there is a window. The carpet is very stained, and some of the furniture was also so stained there's no way I would sit on it. There is some more modern hotel furniture in the room mixed in with the older stained furniture. The toilet seat was not attached to the toilet. The shower didn't work properly. I believe the housekeepers did a good job for the most part but there was also a pile of what looked to be sand underneath the register. The stay was not terrible, but the smell was so bad that I would not stay there again, and the carpet/ furniture so stained that I did not feel comfortable in the room. It would not take much for the owners to replace the carpets and do a bit of work.

needs updating

bar it just old rundown bar,food it not good service is poor,one thing i don,t skim on is food and this restaurant needs and good cook and updating looks dirty to me,it is a typical small outdated small town motel.
