Top address in Wels, in the city, near the Traun bike path, excellent breakfast, fitness center

Very pleasant (business) hotel or for a short stay during a bike tour.
Top service at the reception and during breakfast. Very well suited for seminar stays, with a shaded green courtyard, in a modern design.
The rooms are functional with a touch of industrial design elements. Very pleasant queen-size single bed; pleasantly large shower, with rain shower and handheld shower.
The breakfast offers a very detailed selection, especially of cheese, cold cuts (e.g., homemade liver cheese), cereals (e.g., wheat germ), nuts (cashews), vegetables (e.g., capers), a great juice press with prepared fruits and vegetables, including ginger.
Top, highly recommended.
Fitness center: 2 treadmills, 1 cross trainer, 1 rower, 1 bike (Technogym), a wide range of dumbbells, pull-up bar, barbell, leg press, kettlebells in a wide range - top.
Small, fine sauna very nicely done with comfortable sauna loungers and a (very small) fresh air area.

Nice overall

Nice room in a great location and convenient parking. Unfortunately the beds are not at all comfortable and the standard room doesnt have any mini fridge. The fruit platter is a rip off. 7€ and all I got was 2 apples, a banana and a handful of grapes. Not even fresh sliced fruit like one might get at the breakfast buffet.

The best option in Wels.

I arrived at this Hotel after having stayed in another within the same city (Wels) looking for greater comfort and it was achieved. The Service attitude is higher than the average of what you find in the area. The location is unbeatable right in the city center. The comfort of the bed is good, the room may be a little small, but it has all the services for a good stay, the conditions of the Hotel are very good, as it would seem that it was recently remodeled, has technological facilities, the Internet is very good breakfast is excellent.

Misleading "holiday with dog" offer (animal catfish) and no goodwill whatsoever.

The stay (thought 20.12 - 25.12.2025) at the Hotel Ploberger in Wels was a clear disappointment for me, especially in connection with the advertised offer “Tierisch Wels”, booked via Kurz-mal-weg.de
Located in a less attractive environment between purpose-built buildings, with hardly any green spaces in the immediate vicinity. For a stay with a dog this is very impractical, as you have to travel longer distances to find a suitable walking opportunity at all.
However, dealing with the topic of dogs is crucial:
Apart from the fact that dogs are allowed in the room and at breakfast, there are no dog-specific services.
No bowls, no dog bed, no welcome, no information or services. In my view, the advertised “holiday with dog” offer is not filled with content.
After arrival I asked for an early departure as the offer obviously did not meet the expectation from the booking. There was no goodwill or willingness to resolve. Instead, a 90% cancellation fee was charged. Communication at the reception was short. There was no response to a subsequent email to the hotel.
Conclusion:
A hotel that advertises a “holiday with a dog”, but does not deliver on this promise and shows no accommodation in case of justified criticism. Absolutely not recommended for dog owners.
