Staff were very helpful on arrival, giving directions to our next place. Room was spacious and well appointed, breakfast well worth the money.

Not a Five Star Stay
Gosh, what a disappointment. From the photos when booking, Hotel Realm looked super stylish and very cool.
We noted that it was a five star property, and were very much looking forward to staying here.
First impressions were good, the staff at reception were excellent, and the atrium is five star grand. But once we got to our room on the executive level it was pretty underwhelming.
Strange set up with a large empty space as you open the door and then a very sterile kitchen that looked like it belonged in a dormitory.
The living area and bedroom were nice but there wasn’t a comfortable chair in the place!
So far, so ok but the bathroom was not good at all.
What looked like toothpaste was on the shelves and hadn’t been cleaned, tiles were peeling, dirt and muck collecting around the shower edges and floor edges. Not anywhere near 5 star level.
The heater/air con did not work either.
The next day our room was not made up - we had to ask for this to occur which it finally did but no coffee replenishment.
Just not acceptable for a hotel with this rating. Breakfast was fine.
Good things:
Very comfortable bed and pillows.
Free parking.

My go-to hotel in Canberra
This was my second stay at Hotel Realm, and I’ll definitely keep coming back. The rooms are lovely, the hotel staff are always so helpful, and the location is incredibly convenient. I’ve stayed at other hotels in Canberra, but none have compared — especially for the price. I’ve found some other hotels to be more expensive, but not nearly as good!

Outstanding weekend. Great service, comfortable accommodation, fantastic breakfast.
I have stayed at Realm several times and always find it comfortable. This occasion though seems to have raised the bar again. The checkin staff, Bibi and his offsider were exceptional. They made us feel welcome and were most helpful to us on checkin. Very professional and perfect hospitality. Great job Bibi! We noticed all the staff the whole time were warm and friendly, with the uniforms impeccable. Our room was excellent. The beds here are soft and comfortable. Everything was terrific in the room. Only suggestion I would make is to store a spare blanket in the room as it got a bit cool and we had trouble working the heater/cooler. Did not seem responsive to temperature controls. Luckily it was not your typical freezing cold Canberra night, so was bearable. We had the buffet breakfast and noticed some vast improvements here. Probably the best buffet breakfast we have encountered. It had everything we could wish for and was fresh, with friendly staff. We also used the gym at nearby Brassey (as we went early), which was seamless and a great gym. Overall, the hotel was first class and seems to keep getting better each time. Thankyou!

Affront to the senses.
Room was dirty. Marks on curtains and walls. Musty odour engrained in the carpet. Thermostat kept resetting to 23.5c even after turning power off. Had to open the balcony door to avoid boiling to death. Won't be back.
