Great food good rooms

A small hotel with a very good restaurant on the edge of Warendorf. Excellent food at the friendly restaurant. Rooms are not fancy but good quality for the price. OK selection of wines on the menu but ask for the "extra" wine list for more quality choices.
The locale has places for a nice evening walk after dinner also.

Good food - terrible service

Went for dinner with party of four. Indoor ambience is nice, menu interesting with local touch. Ordered four main courses. Service slow and uninterested, although there were bread plates, no bread was served, one of the main courses had the wrong side (mashed potatoes instead of noodles as per menu), which was replaced, albeit without apology. Had to search for waiter when we wanted to order additional drinks. Food was good, but good kitchen was turned into bad experience by inferior service staff.

An enjoyable night in the middle of nowhere

If this hotel manages to sort out checking in after they close their reception it may provide a reasonable overnight for anyone doing business in this beautiful horse oriented town. Comfortable, quiet rooms, yet the Wi-Fi available only in their rather costly restaurant with an uninspiring menu

Sehr in die Jahre gekommen

Die Lage des Hotels und das Restaurant sind top. Vor allem das Abendessen ist erste Klasse.
Die Zimmer sind jedoch renovierungsbedürftig und vor allem dreckig. Sie sind muffig, die Gardinen müssen gewaschen bzw. ausgetauscht werden. Die Bäder sind vollkommen veraltet. Da besteht Handlungsbedarf

Hotel vs Restaurant

Ich war für einige Tage Gast im Landhotel Aust. Da am Montag Ruhetag ist, ist folglich die rezeption nicht besetzt. Zum Glück hängen einige Zettel mit Telefonnummern an der Tür. Nur blöd, wenn jemand kein Handy zur Hand hat. Und wenn man die nummern anruft und die mailbox bzw. der Anrufbeantworter dran geht, ist es nicht minder blöd. Zum Glück kam noch ein Gast. Sonst hätte ich meine Buchung bezweifelt. Nachdem wir zusammen einmal das Gebäude umrundet hatten, ging plötzlich die Tür auf und der Chef des Hauses nahm uns in Empfang. Nachdem ich mich vorgestellt hatte, holte er die Chipkarte für´s Zimmer und wir begaben uns in das Nachbargebäude. Die Äußerung: "Sie haben ja über Booking oder etwas ähnliches gebucht, dann bekommen Sie ein kleines Zimmer" hätte ich mir als Chef verkniffen... Aber nun gut, ist halt so. Das Zimmer war wirklich etwas klein, aber ausreichend und sauber. Klein hingegen war das Bad, aber ich wollte da drin ja auch nicht tanzen. Das Zimmer war sauber und etwas in die Jahre gekommen, ebenso das Bad. Das Bett bzw. die Matraze knarrt, aber wenn man weiß, wie man damit umzugehen hat oder wohin man sich dreht, ist alles gut... Föhn gibt es nur auf Anfrage, wie ich am Abreisetag erleben durfet, ich brauche aber auch keinen. Einen Meldezettel oder ähnliches wird wohl auch nicht gebraucht. Das Frühstück ist nicht unbedingt reichlich, aber ausreichend. Bei dem Preis hätte ich schon etwas mehr erwartet. Das Restaurant mag wohl gut sein, aber definitiv nicht meine Preisklasse! Ein Weizenbier für 4,50€ habe ich mir aber dann doch gegönnt. In der Fussgängerzone von Warendorf, die zu Fuss schnell zu erreichen ist, gibt es auch ganz tolle Restaurants! Alles in allem, na ja. ich verbuche das jetzt mal unter "Etwas Pech gehabt und dazugelernt."
