Can only recommend the hotel and would book it again.
I had 700 km behind me and 400 km still ahead of me.
I had reserved by phone on the way and a Mr. Fritzsche confirmed to me
the booking.

quality appropriate to low price
The hotel is located 15 minutes outside of Leipzig center by bus (which runs every 30 minutes). It is about 1.5 km from the nearest tram stop. The area is a former industrial area that is now filled with abandoned buildings and open lots grown over with grass. But it is quite isolated from its neighbors. And the area is quite safe. A Lotus care dealer is nearby. Other than a Subway restaurant, there aren’t any dining options nearer than 1.5 km.
The hotel’s address is on a main thoroughfare, but the building is set back far from the road in a rural feeling area of grass and shrubs.
My double room has two single beds right next to one another. To get into one, you have to climb over the other or climb in from the foot of the bed. But since I am solo this doesn’t matter. (If the beds are moved apart, there is no room to open the door to the room.)
The beds are wooden platforms with a mattress on top. The mattress is basic and functional. Each bed has a duvet (wool, cotton, or some other batting inside – not feathers), and a good-sized soft pillow (not foam): ~24 inch square.
The room includes a cabinet with a small amount of hanging space and a shelf area with one shelf and the floor of the unit for storage. There is a separate 1 meter high shelf unit with a 14" old CRT TV on top (13 channels all in German) and a DVR on the top shelf. Two other shelves are available for storage.
There is also a small table with two chairs that I use for both a desk and dining area. The room has a large window looking out on grass and trees that are not tended.
The bathroom has a toilet, small lavatory, small plastic shower with a nozzle that can be used by hand or placed in its high holder. The bathroom has its own window. Two small wrapped soap bars were provided along with two flimsy plastic cups.
There is a nearby rail line. You can hear the train, but it is not loud. The rail line is partially depressed below ground level. I did not find it a distraction – especially at night when the schedule is light. But the walls and floors are thin and I could hear the squeaking of the bed above me as a couple indulged themselves in each other.
The rooms are cleaned daily, but they don’t seem to clean the floors very well. (In fact, they also neglected to clean my room at all on the last day before I left.) The bathroom seemed clean, but suffered from the scent of stale urine. There was an occasional scent of cigarette smoke. Perhaps this came in the window from rooms above. My room had an ashtray, but much of the time, I did not detect an odor.
A buffet breakfast is served daily. But at 20 Euro/day, it didn’t seem worthwhile to me. It had a minimal selection of sliced sausage and sliced cheese, some pre-sliced bread with a toaster and a few different spreads, two types of cereal, orange juice, and yogurt. There may be more, but nothing else stood out when I peaked in to see what I could get for 20 Euro.
The office is often unattended. This is frustrating when one needs a quick answer to a question. The staff were friendly, but they have limited command of English. Since I speak no German, this was a bit of a handicap for me.
