Always happy to return.
Everything is okay. I was very satisfied with my room, except for the small detail that the light switches could be better positioned.
Breakfast is super, everything is available, and you can prepare your eggs yourself just the way you like them.
Whether scrambled, fried, or boiled eggs.
And the staff is modern, informal, and very friendly.

Unfortunately a disappointing stay
Unfortunately disappointing stay
We were at the Hotel Explorer Oberstdorf with two adults and a 13-year-old child. Unfortunately, the room was clearly too small for three people. The sleeping arrangement for our child was particularly problematic – they were practically lying directly on the floor or had hardly any reasonable space to sleep.
In addition, all the mattresses were sagging. As a result, the sleeping comfort for all three people was very poor. Especially for a hotel that caters to active vacationers and families, we would have expected significantly more here.
Overall, we were therefore very dissatisfied with the room size and, above all, with the quality of the beds. For three people, we would not recommend this room based on our experience.

vielen Dank, dass du dir die Zeit für eine ausführliche Rückmeldung zum Aufenthalt genommen hast.
Es tut mir seh leid, dass du deinen Aufenthalt bei uns als enttäuschend empfunden hast und insbesondere mit der Zimmergröße sowie dem Schlafkomfort nicht zufrieden warst.
Unsere Zimmer sind bewusst funktional gestaltet und auch für Familien mit drei Personen ausgelegt.
Dennoch verstehen ich, dass die vorhandene Schlafsituation für euch nicht ausreichend komfortabel war.
Auch die Rückmeldung zu den Matratzen nehme ich sehr ernst und werde den Zustand der Betten entsprechend prüfen.
Ich bedauere sehr, dass wir eure Erwartungen in diesem Punkt nicht erfüllen konnten.
Mich würde aber sehr interessieren, was ihr mehr erwartet hättet? - Daher würde ich mich sehr über ein persönliches Telefonat freuen!

Solid hotel for an active vacation.
We stayed in the hotel for a week. It is solid for the price. Everything is clean, and the breakfast offers everything one needs. You can even prepare your own eggs.
Unfortunately, the rooms do not have a refrigerator or air conditioning. The temperatures were always above 30 degrees during the week, so I would recommend the hotel to install air conditioning. You also cannot cool the rooms down enough in the evening to sleep well. We woke up several nights because it was simply too hot in the room.
There is a small spa with a sauna, steam bath, and infrared cabin. There is no pool.
There is a bar where breakfast also takes place. You can sit there nicely in the evenings/afternoons and have a drink. A few dishes are also offered, but pizza and tarte flambée are frozen.
Unfortunately, the rooms do not have a refrigerator or air conditioning. The temperatures were always above 30 degrees during the week, so I would recommend the hotel to install air conditioning. Es freut uns sehr, dass Dir insbesondere die Sauberkeit, unser Frühstücksangebot mit den mehr als 70 verschiedenen und überwiegend regionalen Produkten sehr positiv aufgefallen sind.
Danke für den Hinweis zur fehlenden Klimaanlage und dem Kühlschrank auf den Zimmern. Gerade während außergewöhnlich heißer Sommertage kann dies den Aufenthalt beeinträchtigen. Wir nehmen deine Anregung gerne auf und beziehen sie in unsere zukünftigen Überlegungen ein.

Pleasant stay with some details to improve
I stayed at the Explorer Hotel Oberstdorf during an Erasmus trip with the school, and generally enjoyed it.
The hotel is modern, clean and welcoming. The entrance immediately makes a good impression. My room was 1318, on the third floor. The rooms are all similar, nicely decorated and with very comfortable beds. The bathroom was spotless and stocked with everything (towels, shampoo, etc.).
There was a small problem at first: the door handle was broken, but the staff fixed it the next day.
Note: there is only one elevator, so at peak times you have to be patient.
As for the food:
During the first dinner, our professors had ordered a specific menu, so for those who did not eat pork a curry soup was served (not really the best). Alternatively, there was pasta, but it was quite dry.
Breakfast, however, was simple but good. Not much choice, but all fresh and well organized.
There were no spaces like games room or relaxation areas on the ground floor, too bad.
Overall: recommended hotel for cleanliness, comfort of beds and staff availability. If they improved the offer for school groups a little, it would be even better!
