Serene Kandy Fabulous Hotel

Myself and my wife stayed at Serene Kandy while visiting Sri Lanka as a special trip for our 40th wedding anniversary , My Wife Jackie made the reservation and was sent many update emails by the fabulous manager Dushantha right up to our arrival , he arranged our transfer from Colombo to his hotel and made sure our stay was fabulous , arranging trips and supplying an amazing and knowledgeable driver Wusantha , The Hotel is very nice and fabulous view over Kandy , the Rooms and Staff were great , good Air con and lovely pool and bar , buffet style breakfast was great as was the food served at the bar and restaurant , Highly Recommend

A Lovely Experience in Kandy
I spent a few peaceful hours in beautiful Kandy around lunchtime, and it was a truly enjoyable experience. The food was delicious and satisfying, and the service was excellent. The staff at Hotel Dananjaya were especially kind, welcoming, and attentive, which made the visit even more pleasant.
Thank you for the warm hospitality and wonderful food.

The hotel was nice for us as a family. The hotel itself is ok not amazing but it had a nice pool (NOT the 8 pools advertised on expedia) but we could see from pics this seemed unlikely. The view from our room was really poor of other hotels or a derelict housing area which as on a massive hill is a shame. Staff lovely as per normal. The rooms were a little old but ok. The breakfast was not buffet as not enough people staying there. Which is fair enough but we could order what we wanted and it was ok.

Just like to say thanks to all the staff who looked after me...I had a few trips to hospital in the early hours and staff went out of there way to take me and bring me back from hospital..they were always there to help and I am so thankful they did .

Basic Base Hotel

This is a mixed review as a 3* hotel goes it is ok, however as it seems most hotels in Sri Lanka need up dating and modernising. The staff here were fantastic, although they seemed to be doing different jobs, from reception staff to pool bar attendant, but happy to help in anyway! Location is great as you can walk down into town, however a Tuk Tuk is recommended for way back up. The pool area is partly covered so nowhere to sunbathe. Breakfast was basic but again whatever you asked for they did try their best to accommodate. No fridge in room and monkeys caused havoc on balcony on night so be prepared for visitors .
