Terrible Hygiene

Reception booked me into room 115. This room was not clean and there was old blood on all the beds. They moved me to room 129. This room was also not clean with blood everywhere. Unfortunately i checked in at 1 am and it was to late to find another hotel. Shower water does not drain. Stains on the carpets. Matress are so old, you can not sleep on it. There are no shower taps, the shower "on switch" is located in the bedroom. There is a chemical bad smell in both rooms. The Abbott Lodge in Dublin is absolutely filthy and should not be recommended on any online hotel search engine. I can not believe is paid 75€ per night in this filthy Lodge. I have been traveling for 30 years all around the world, and this place is the worst facility i have ever seen. (See photos of both rooms)

Not for me

I stayed here for one night with a friend as we were going out late and it was too late to get home. The place was dirty with stains on every single step of the stairs. The receptionist wasn’t very pleasant. It was cheap but not cheerful. Will not be back. I recommend as a last resort as the location is right in the centre and it did what we needed it to. The room was nice enough with a tv we could watch before going out.

Just a drain

If you like drain smell, this is your place. The place is horrible, old and badly maintained. I stayed in room 114 and the smell of drain was just unbearable. The place stinks not only in the bedroom, just everywhere. Because of covid I was wearing a mask, but even wit a FFP2 the smell was too much

Photographer

Relatively clean except stain on extra blanket, which attempts to outperform the shabbiness of the carpet. No coat hangers in closet.
Can hear t.v. clearly; the problem is, it's in the neighboring hotel room.
This room, 314, faces the front.
Road noise is pervasive, even with window closed.
Would only stay here if nothing else available.
Lackadaisical, less than hospitable front desk. Verbally gave room number, neglected to discuss parking (there is none), or give wifi pass code.

Noisy, Dirty and in need of some maintenance

I visited this hotel on Sunday 9th October 2017 and was planning on staying here for my short trip to Dublin until Wednesday. It looked okay from the outside as it is on a street with many other b&bs and hostels. As i was at the entrance door is had a doorbell with a sign saying please ring bell. At this point it appeared okay but quite strange as I've never been to a bnb that doesn't have a key entry. The reception then told me it was a 24 hour reception and that my room was next to him. About 4 yards away from the reception. Straight up i knew this was going to be an issue as noise at night with people coming in and out and then again when checking in and out. I didn't go on holiday to get no sleep! . As for the room itself.. The lights beside the bed didn't work, the sheets were dirty on the bed the window was broken and best of all the shower didn't work. I gave it one night and immediately booked another hotel. I do not recommend this place to anyone. The only good thing about it was they didn't hold me to the 3 nights i booked for. I'm sure I'm not the first nor the last to complain about this particular room in the hotel. I definitely won't be back here
